Hey all. So I’m applying ED to the Northwestern School of Communications for a comm. studies major and I’m slightly freaking out over the fact that I have no SAT subject tests. I have good grades/test scores otherwise, so I didn’t think these exams were necessary, and now I’ve basically missed my window to send any scores for ED consideration.
ACT Score: 33 (E-36, R-36, S-30, M-29)
AP scores: AP Calc AB (5), APUSH (5), AP Lang (5)
Will not sending any subject tests hurt me in the application process? I will most likely take the SAT subject tests in November, after the ED deadline has passed, and then just send them to my RD schools (if applicable, obviously). Just an fyi, the subject tests I’d be most likely to take are US History and Lit.
Thanks!
There is actually another test date for SAT sub tests is on Oct 1st, but I do not think you have enough time to study. If you feel confident to take the test without studying, then take it. Since you already registered Nov SAT sub, all you need to do is chance the test date and pay college some money.
all you need is to change your test date
RELAX! - You do NOT need to take SAT II tests for NU. The Common Data Set indicates that NU recommends, it does not require SAT II tests. My son was an ED admit in 2012 and did not take any SAT II tests. He called NU admissions and they told him that the SAT IIs are for those that need to show strength in an area, maybe to make up for a poor GPA or AP test score in an area. Since you have all 5s - you should be golden.
@nugraddad thanks so much! very reassuring to know
