I am planning on applying to UT and A&M for engineering and even though subject tests are not required or even recommended for admission, I was wondering if they would be at least be considered during the admissions process. I am planning on taking a Physics subject test and possibly a Math II test, but I am unsure of whether or not this will help my chances. Anyone who knows if they consider subject tests or if anyone has any information please comment.

http://ctl.utexas.edu/studenttesting/exams?field_subject_area_tid=All&field_exam_type_tid=5&combine= does show that some SAT subject scores can be used for placement (presumably without needing to take the usual placement tests).
Texas A&M’s SAT subject score policy is at http://dars.tamu.edu/dars/files/f1/f12677fd-da61-4952-9d65-b9c99bbc52fe.pdf .
