SAT Subject tests Help?!!

I applied to my dream schools Harvard, Yale, Duke and Vanderbilt and have been checking relentlessly since the deadline to make sure I sent and they received everything I needed for approval but overlooked the SAT subject tests. But the websites of the respective school said they had everything they needed! I didn't even know what they were. What can I do?! Does anyone know if they can still accept me?!

Vanderbilt doesn’t require SAT subject tests, so you’re ok there. Unless you sent in the ACT, both Yale and Duke require two subject tests (It’s ACT or SAT+2 Subj Tests). But Harvard requires 2 subject tests no matter what. So if you never sent them in, I’m pretty sure they’ll treat your application as “incomplete” and you’ll be auto rejected. I’m not positive about that, but if you don’t send in something that’s required then they can’t make a final decision on your application.

If I understand your post correctly you did not send the SAT 2 test scores to Harvard, Yale, Duke and Vanderbilt. You meant to send the scores but you somehow forgot.

There is no point worrying about this or asking us what may happen. We don’t know.

Fix the problem:

(1) Immediately rush send the SAT 2 scores to those universities that require them or state that they will consider them. Vanderbilt is one of the latter.

(2) Send an email to each of the universities admissions office alerting them to what has happened and that you have rush sent the scores to them.

(3) Discuss the situation with your guidance counselor and ask him to call the colleges and advise them that the scores were rush sent as of (ideally) today.

It seems like the OP didn’t even take the subject tests as indicated by “I didn’t even know what they were”. I hope that’s not the case, and if it was just a matter of forgetfulness on sending the scores then def do what fogcity said

I didn’t take the tests. When I check the statuses of my applications they say complete and that they received my scores… I thought I had everything finished.

Sorry man, but there’s nothing you can do about it now. Hopefully you sent your ACT scores to Yale and Duke. If that’s the case, then you wouldn’t need the subject tests. Even if you didn’t send an ACT score in, if you’ve taken it in the past then you could rush score report it if possible. Even if the ACT is lower than your SAT, at least you’ll have a diminished chance rather than no chance at those two schools. But Harvard isn’t flexible about subject tests - so that’s going to be a rejection due to an ‘incomplete’ app. Harvard is a lotto shot anyway so don’t worry about it

I sure hope Duke and Yale are flexible. Thanks man.

Unfortunately it’s not a matter of flexibility, schools have testing requirements that must be fulfilled.

The schools reported that they received your score report, but they likely haven’t checked them yet to see if you fulfilled their requirements.
