SAT Subject tests: how important?

<p>So um...let's just say my SAT IIs are definitely not as strong as my SAT Is (though my SAT Is aren't spectacular by CC standards...)</p>

<p>Do colleges weigh SAT IIs as heavily as SAT Is? (in other words, can mediocre SAT II scores kill your application, if everything else is pretty much decent?)</p>

<p>btw, i'm applying for an Asian Studies or Japanese major and I took Lit and Math 2-- so not like they're really critical for my prospective subject or anything.</p>

<p>good thing i don't want to be an engineer -_-;;</p>
