SAT subject tests just as good as SAT?

Hi Everyone!
I am totally in LOVE with Bowdoin (I’m applying ED) but my regular SAT scores, as of now, aren’t stellar (I worked over the summer very hard and I am planning on retaking them this coming October).

HOWEVER, my subject test scores are within Bowdoin range (720 in both Bio-M and US History) and I was wondering if it would look bad to send my subject test scores instead of my regular SAT (just in case I do badly or something)

thanks for your help everyone! i really appreciate everyone’s comments because the college process is very confusing :)

Bump!

Curious if you took the ACT? You could be a student who naturally tends to do better vs. SAT

I am not sure if submitting SaT2 without SAT1 or ACT is such a good idea. What is your GPA and class rigor? URM? Have you asked your GC?

I have a 3.84 and 4.60
Very rigorous classes

That’s a tough one for me to comment on since I don’t have much admissions selection experience. Maybe you can post to the college admissions thread? Just not sure how adcoms look at subject test submission without the ACT or SAT1. If you are going to submit at all, I would think they would want to see more than subject tests.

No – it won’t look bad to submit the achievement tests without the SAT. When you don’t submit your SATs, Bowdoin looks more deeply into the other pieces of evidence that indicate your intelligence and capabilities. Solid SAT2 scores help fill out your picture and provide good indicators of academic ability . .
