hey what are good scores for the US history, literature, and math2 subject tests?
Im taking them for the first time this week and im getting a little nervous!!

It depends where you are applying. If it is a top 20 school, I’d say the lowest score to be considered submittable is around a 700. 750+ Looks really good.

Actually, for top 20 schools, anything that isn’t an 800 looks bad and an 800 doesn’t look that great. Its basically a tie-lose situation, either way, you don’t win, but you can lose.

^Not true at all. How does an 800 look “not that great” may I ask?

The average score for Subject tests vary, but they are around 600 (average scores for Math II higher, literature lower; too tired to link to it but wikipedia, for example, has a chart with info on that under the article “SAT subject tests”). Subject tests aren’t weighed as heavily as the SAT I and your grade point average anyway. I would take practice tests (either on sparknotes for free–which aren’t that good, and they don’t have literature anyway–or from the official subject test study guide blue book, even while flipping through it at Barnes and Noble if you don’t want to buy it). Just review material (actually, that’s kind of hard to do for the Literature test, so just for Math II and US History), and try your best. Taking three tests in one sitting is going to be rather draining…get good sleep and be mentally prepared. Good luck.

For top colleges, I’d say what others have said–around a 700 is fine, more or less depending on the subjects you think you will do well on. Also, I doubt that “anything that isn’t an 800 looks bad”.

Considering there are huge percentages of people that get 800s on each test an 800 on the subject tests doesn’t look that prestigious.

depending on the schools that you want to apply and get accepted into, it will vary. typically:

math2 - 780+ [where i live, Bay Area California, most people score 800]
us history - 750+ [i heard the curve on this is pretty good though, not entirely sure though]
literature - 750+ [not to sure about this]

well i am planning on applying to ivies sooo?
