Hey guys, I got my SAT subject scores back today and was not necessarily pleased with them. Most of my schools recommend submitting subject tests but they are not required. Here are my scores
Math I-720 Math II-760 Physics-630
Should I send in any subject tests? If so, which ones? I’m looking at top-tier schools (including Penn and UVa), would these scores be a low point in my application if I submitted them?
The 760 is a great score. Don’t send both M1 and M2 - they won’t be considered as 2 distinct Subject Tests. The 630, at least for Penn, won’t do you any favors, but probably won’t be the reason you are rejected, if you are. Personally, I would try to take another Subject Test. Good luck.
Rule of thumb I’ve heard is send any score over 700 for highly selective schools, but I agree not to send both Math 1 and 2. I’d try another round the Fall to see if you can another over 700. (In fact, you can prolly take up until Dec – my D last year submitted SAT subject tests in Jan a couple weeks after submitting application – but you should check with particular colleges’ policies.)
Good luck!
over 700 is more than fine for top-tier schools. I would not send physics. Do take another since math I and II are considered somewhat the same.
If the subject tests are in a field related to your major, then I think it would be a good idea to send scores. However, it is not necessary.
