ok so i have a little dilemma because well i got a 790 on my math II subject test and a 740 on the bio subject test but i absolutely bombed the lit test and got a 630...the schools that i want to go to like columbia and upenn and pomona dont accept score choice so they see everything and i maybe want to go into political science and i read that lit was important for that

the thing is its not actually abnormal for me to score a 630 but i took a practice test w/o any studying and scored a 750, but that was obviously a fluke... i'm scared that if i take it again and score around the same, the schools will just be like um...

so should i take it again?? and also on the sat bio test, should i just leave that one alone too or take it again? i'm just confused about what to do with the whole mess...

I’m not completely sure, but would the colleges ever know if you used score choice? I’m pretty sure they won’t… If they will never see your score, then just send math and bio.

Otherwise, I would study really hard over the next few weeks for lit and take it again. But ONLY take it if you are going to study really hard for the test.

Not accepting score choice doesn’t necessarily mean that you must submit all SAT subject tests ever taken; at some colleges (at least one to which my daughter is applying) it means that all scores from the SAT I must be submitted, but you can choose any two SAT subject tests to submit. In fact, as very few colleges require more than two subject tests, it would seem odd that they would turn around and require three if you’ve taken that many, or even more.

I suggest checking each colleges website and calling the admissions office if the website isn’t clear to see what each individual college’s policy is, and then following that policy.

I agree that each school’s policy should be verified. Given that Columbia was the first school mentioned, I inferred that the OP knows Columbia’s policy, which is very simple and straightforward:

“Students must submit all SAT Subject Test scores from all test dates.”

Thanks for replying
I think I’m going to take us history later but it doesn’t just take away the lit score right? I mean even if I do really well in that, the lit scores just gonna be hanging there by itself…
I heard that most just take the top 2 scores but does that mean that the lit score isn’t taken into consideration as much?
