I just took my SAT subject tests this morning. What's the average score Duke is looking for on them? I chose super easy ones (literature and us history) so I'm hoping to do well. Any Duke alum or ED admitted students wanna share what they got on theirs? How important are they to the application?

I’m not a Duke alum or an admitted ED student (I applied RD like you), but generally, a 700+ is considered great for competitive schools like Duke. I’m pretty sure I hunted around for that information as soon as I got my scores back (took the same tests as you did and a 730 on US History and 700 on Literature).

Nice. How many did you miss to get those scores?

I think I looked it up the morning I took those tests and missing ten or so can keep you in the 700+. Don’t take my word on it, ten is a pretty arbitrary number, but for some reason I feel that’s about right. The score report didn’t tell me how many I missed, unfortunately.

I’m sure you did fine, better than I did since I only studied for the U.S. History Subject Test the week before that Saturday.
