SAT Subject Tests

I have a question on the sat 2s.
When is the latest you can take the sat 2s for college admission?
because i am taki the sat on october but isnt it too late to take additional sat subject tests?

november would count for early admission… january is the last time to do it for regular admission and in both cases you would have to send your scores directly to the university

Last test accepted if applying early action or early decision is Oct or Nov depending on college; last one accepted for regular admission is either Dec or Jan depending on college.

Can someone explain to me early admission and regular admission?

Also, i really want to get into uc davis? So can someone tell me when is the latest we can send our sat 2s in?

UCs have only regular admission, application deadline is Nov 30, but they accept test scores through the Dec test date. To send scores to UCs, you order College Board to send them to only one UC to which you apply, rest to which you apply automatically get them from the one. if sending Dec test best to designate a UC as a college to receive scores in your test application, meaning as one of your free sends; that results in the fastest form of delivery. As to various terms used:

Early decision: you apply early to a college, often by Nov 1, and get decision mid-Dec. If accepted, you are required to attend. You can apply to only one college ED but usually you can apply early action elsewhere but have to withdraw any applications if accepted ED.

Early action: you apply early to a college, often by Nov 1, and get decision mid-Dec. if accepted, you are not bound to attend and can decide after hearing from other colleges. Colleges with EA usually allow you to apply ED and EA elsewhere but some prohibit you from applying ED elsewhere, and a small number have Single Choice Early Action which is early action but you are prohibited from applying ED or EA elsewhere subject to certain exceptions.

Early admission: you apply in junior year of high school to start college in place of your senior year. If accepted you are not required to attend. Not all colleges have early admission and for those that do, you often need to be exceptional (think the next Einstein) to be admitted.

Regular admission: colleges’ admission program that majority use; you apply by some designated deadline (many have early Jan) and get decision sometime between Feb and first week of April depending on college.

Rolling admissions: a regular admission program that some colleges have pursuant to which your admission decision is given within weeks after you apply; thus the concept of “rolling” in that the college is continuously rolling out admission decisions as applications are received.

Some college’s have early decision, some early action, some only regular admission, some have rolling admission as their regular admission procedure.

Thank you soo much! I appreciate your clear explanation.

Thank you. just to reconfirm. I can take my sat subject tests in december for UC davis?

Yes, just make sure you identify Davis (or another UC to which you are applying) in your test application as a college to automatically receive scores upon release.

Also note that Davis is one of the UC campuses that no longer recommends SAT subject tests, see [University of California - SAT Subject Tests](http://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/admissions/freshman/requirements/examination-requirement/SAT-subject-tests/index.html)

Oh they dont recommend sat subject tests? is it still good to take them?

Yes, they can consider them. Also, I assume you are applying to more than one college and you may need them for others.

Okay. I hope I do well on them. It may make my application stronger.
