So this October I'm thinking about re-taking the SAT---and taking 3 subject tests.. in total I'm aiming for Biology, Mol. Biology, Ecological Biology, Physics, Chemistry, French/Spanish, and U.S./World History-- i'm splitting them so I take 3 each test date.. is this a good idea?

Post this on SAT Subject Tests Preparation!

I’m assuming your a rising senior otherwise you wouldn’t be forcing yourself to take so many at once. I’m also confused as to what exactly you plan on doing. You want to take the SAT and 3 SAT II’s on the same day?!

You’re aware that you can’t take the SAT and the subject tests on the same day right?

NO ; i’m planning on taking the SAT first day, then 3-6 subject test on the consecutive test dates.

Anybody?? …

What is the point of taking so many subject tests? You should focus on 2-3 and score the best out of them. No school requires more than 3.

McG, if you need the subj tests for admissions, 2 should do you. Make sure you don’t run into a deadline issue, though. Oct 5 is the last date for reg SAT if you’re applying ED anywhere, and Nov 1 for RD.

I would sit for SAT in Oct, and 2 subj tests in Nov. How to choose which 2? Sign up for 3, and go with the 2 you feel strongest in on test day. Also check the school’s fine print on which TYPE of subj test they require. Some want two different types of subjects (math/sci), so check into that and save yourself the stress.

Good luck!

Ok thanks-- as the name implies i’ve been thinking about applying to McGill up in Montreal, as well as several other public universities…and your occasional reach schools. They required two math or science sat ii’s, but I thought taking that many would attract the admissions officers. *They don’t regard any EC’s, essays, nor any recommendations-- just numbers…:((
