So I'm a sophomore born 1998
I took the sat math II when I was 14 and got 800
recently took the sat physics right before taking ap physics b but only got a 790
should I be retaking it?

You seem to have some adeptness at math. According to this document: http://media.collegeboard.com/digitalServices/pdf/research/SAT-Subject-Tests-Percentile-Ranks-2013.pdf

a person who scored Physics 790 is in the 84th percentile whereas the 800 scorer is in the 87th percentile. Now analyze. Can you fathom any human scenario where a school would solely choose to reject a person who missed an 800 and instead scored a 790? Surely you may face some rejections come application time. But you’re absolutely nuts if you think it’d be over those 10 points. You’re better off spending that day playing video games with your friends or helping your mom straighten some closets. I’m 100% serious.

Have you tested into CTY or Duke TIP?
In any case, there’s NO difference for colleges between a 790 and an 800, or even between a 760 and an 800. I would suggest taking at least one more SAT Subject and scoring 750+ if you’re aiming for Top 20 universities/LACs.

@MYOS1634 For Math II, there is a difference between 760 and 800. For the others, though, I agree with you!

Sorry, I’m just a little ocd
