SAT Subject Tests

I know that on Georgetown's website they recommend that applicants take three subjects tests. However, of all the schools I'll be applying to in the fall, Georgetown is the only one that asks for three. So, is there any harm in only submitting two subject tests? Will I be penalized for submitting two? Any reply is greatly appreciated :)

It is best to give the admissions committee what they ask for. If they say 3 subject tests, then it would be best to take the 3 subject tests.

Thanks for the reply. That’s what I figured, but I was wondering if there are any current students who only submitted two subject tests.

Acceptance threads from last year indicated there were kids who were accepted and didn’t submit three.

those students may have been EA admits- if you apply EA they are more lenient with that requirement. It states this on their website

Thank you everyone for providing me with this info

If you are going to submit only two subject teste scores I would suggest they both have scores above 750, and your Sat math and critical reading scores should be above the 750 mark too. Not that you will not get admitted with lower scores, its just that your odds drop significantly. If you check their website they have a chart with scores and number of admitted. While the school has around an 18% admittance rate, the number jumps up to around 60% for those with scores of 800 on the math and critical reading portions of the SAT. So score as high as possible, and if you are a good student a third subject test should not scare you.

@lkgrg17‌ I got a 730 CR and an 800 M. But on the math 2 and us history subject tests I got a 730 on both. I’m Now trying to decide which other subject test to take in October.

lk, can you link to that chart, please?

@hwhat318 You have a great shot. If you are in the top 5% of your class it helps tons also. My DD took the same exams as you and her third SAT II was Bio.
