SAT Subject Tests

Planned Major: Computer Science
I was just wondering what SAT subject tests I should do if i plan on taking this major.
I was planning to do Maths Level 1 & 2 as my two subjects but im not sure if there's any point in doing both.
Should I do both? If not, what could be another option for me to take?
(Keep in mind that i would rather not do a science subject)

Just take Math II

There is no point in doing both. Just do M2. For computer science, choose a science as your second test, even though that’s not your preference.

@skieurope‌ thank you, but the problem is just that im a little out of touch with my science academia and may find the science subject test a bit difficult to learn in time. On that topic, does anyone know which would be the best book to use in this case for revision? Ive heard Princeton Review is helpful…

There’s a thread on here somewhere about the best books to use for a certain test. It varies depending on the subject. If you don’t want to do a science, is there another course that you are concurrently taking or have taken that you think you can do well on in the corresponding subject test? (U.S. History for example) It might just take a few quick review sessions. I assume you’re taking it the earliest possible one, so you’ll have the entire summer to study as well.

I was told that A level candidates don’t require SAT 2 because our exams are all set externally, not internally, and therefore, universities look at our individual subject scores as opposed to requiring an Subject test in them. Has anyone else heard of this.

For some schools, computer science is in the engineering schools, and for some of those schools (like MIT), they require one math and one physical science (physics or chemistry) subject test. If you don’t take these, you have not met the requirements for applying and you will not be able to attend these schools.

That said, there are plenty of great CS schools that don’t even require subject tests, so you can make your own decision about what you want to do.

I’m doing Physics and Math II for a Comp Sci major.
