SAT Subject Tests

I am a high school sophomore and Brown University, as of now, is my number 1 choice. I recently took the SAT Subject Test for Biology (Ecological) and scored a 760 on attempt 1. My original plan was to retake the test until I got above a 750, but since I got a 760 on my first try, I feel like I could do much better. Is 760 a good score to supplement my Brown application? (Assuming that all other aspects of the application are strong as well). Should I try and get a higher score?

P.S. Biology will most likely be my concentration in college, regardless of where I go.

No a 760 is fine.

No. Spend the time on your essays. If you get rejects (and I hope you don’t) it will not be the result of a 760.

Same answer. Brown does not admit by major.

Agree with the two other responses. Do not retake.

Honestly you’re just a sophomore and have plenty of time before college apps. If you’re taking AP Bio your Junior year, I’d recommend you sign up for the May 2019 subject test and retake just to see how it goes. Your AP Bio class will prepare you extensively

Actually, no it won’t. Take it from someone who is not in HS; AP Bio is a college-level class which is much narrower and deeper than a HS bio course and the Subject Test.

not worth retaking. above 700 is fine, and 750 is more than fine. also don’t be sure you’d do better (or significantly better). still an 800 would make no difference compared to a 760. and taking ap bio probably won’t help you there either. take another subject test or focus on a different part of the ap

do not retake, chances are u might get a lower score
good job!
