<p>Are these an actual requirement? From what i've seen, they were just recommended.</p>

<p>it depends on what schools you are looking at.</p>
<p>For Johns Hopkins, not required. just STRONGLY recommended. Less strongly recommended for those submitting ACT's, but still recommended.</p>
<p>For most top-tier schools (JHU included, of course), two or three SAT II tests are highly recommended. Usually, a mix of sci/math and english/history/etc is seen as the best combination to take.</p>
