SAT subject tests

I've had a few questions about applying to MIT. One of them that I can't seem to find is whether or not MIT looks at all three subject tests if you decide to take another one ON TOP OF the required science and math subject tests. I am going to take the SAT chemistry and math 2 subject tests, but do not know if I should take the physics if they are not going to even look at it!

As long as the 3rd and 4th is not too out of range, MIT should only look at your top 2 Math/Science Subject tests. But if you get one < 700 while the other two above 750 then you are opening yourself to discussion.

So it would help me to take the third one? My thoughts on AP tests are:
Math 2 for sure
Chem for sure
Physics maybe
German POSSIBLY
German because I am going to be using rosetta stone :-)

No, MIT will only look at the top two scores that fit their criteria.

Q. Which SAT Subject Tests should I take?

A. We do not have a preference. You should take the tests for which you're best prepared and best suited. If you have taken more than one test in a category, we will use the test which makes you look best.

Thank you Mollie. I am currently waiting for after Christmas break so I can plan an overnight stay at MIT. I hope to see you there!

Well, unless you're admitted, you can't plan an overnight trip to MIT this spring. Spring semester (post-January 1) visits are restricted to admitted students only.

But I hope you are admitted, so it won't be a problem!

Haha I wish that were the case burnitblue, but, as you can see from the post, I haven't even taken the subject tests yet! :-)
No but I just noticed that January and February students can visit, but they have to be seniors! I am a junior so I am pretty disappointed. Do you think they will make an exception?

That's good; I got a 780 Physics but a 530 Chemistry (was taking it just to see what it was like and forgot to cancel my score :P)
