I was wondering what is considered average for NYU on the subject tests.

More specifically in Math 1, Biology M, and Chemistry.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Not to be cruel, but honest. Math 1 is useless, take Math 2.

In terms of standards, for A&S, you’ll need 650+ and for Stern 700+. These are AT LEAST.

^agreed. Stern is all about high math scores on both the SAT and SATII. A good science score won’t hurt either.

Good SAT II scores are nice, but honestly, I’m pretty sure NYU doesn’t place too much emphasis on them. After all, they don’t report those scores, only the SAT scores.

As long as you have a good GPA, good SAT score, and great/stellar extra curriculars, I wouldn’t worry too much about SAT II scores.

I got into NYU and my SAT II scores were HORRIBLE. But I had a 4.0 GPA, solid SAT score, and awesome ECs. I think the NYU admission board is very holistic.

My friend got into Stern with these SATI scores: CR660 M750 W680 and these SATII scores: Math IIC 680 USH 800. So yeah…

Yeah, my SAT II score on Math I was abysmal. I got a 560. Not even on the hard one.

I got a 700 on biology though, and I self studied for it. I took Bio E but honestly after having taken AP Bio I think Bio M would have been better for me. I also took U.S. History and got a 660. I’d recommend you take the Literature one, because everyone I know who took it scored a 700+ and said it was pretty easy. I wish I would have taken that instead of math. The schools look at your scores more so than the actual subject you choose to take. You shouldn’t stress over which ones you pick unless you’re trying to get out of a course requirement by scoring high on a language or something.

So yeah, I don’t know what’s up with that math grade I got. I don’t think I’m that bad, as I’m doing pretty well in Calculus Honors this year. They must not place too much emphasis on it because I’m going to CAS next year.

thanks for the help

based off of what you guys have said I should be fine (on this part of the application)
