Sat subject tests

Hey guys do you think subject test scores of chem-770 and MathII-780 are worth sending to RHIT for bolstering my application in an attempt to receive merit-based scholarships? My act composite was a 33, but Im not really sure if these subject test scores look good because I know they are curved in some unusual way.

Thanks for any input!

I would say that anything is good to send to boost a possibility of acceptance, but I don’t think they will help merit-based aid. It never hurts though.

Oh okay, just curious though, why do you think they won’t help with merit based aid?

Even though I doubt how much those two SAT-II scores will help you procure more merit-based scholarships in comparison to SAT-I or ACT, I’d say just send them in. I had 800 on MathII and 790 on Chem but it didn’t seem to help in my case.

Good luck!

I don’t think it will help because they are not really the “official” test. The main SAT and ACT are the big ones. ACT also does not have supplement Subject Tests so they would be giving an unfair advantage to those who take the SAT. Like I said, it may help chances for admission, but I don’t believe they would look at those when considering merit-based aid. That is more off of class rank, GPA, main ACT and SAT scores, etc.

I would send them anyway, because it never hurts. But I just wouldn’t expect to get any boost in merit-aid from them.
