Getting the same exact score with different highs and lows. That's really not much of a success or failure story......more of ....an "equal" story?

I think the only "success" part of this success story is my V/CR scores. The ironic thing is that I never prepped from Psat->October, or October->January. Dang, I was so lucky I got those vocab words (that I actually knew) in January haha. This is more like a story about LUCK.

Junior year PSAT: 175 - 54cr 65m 56w
Junior Year (June) SAT: 1970 - 660cr 710m 600w
Senior Year (Nov) SAT: 2160 - 670cr 720m 770w
Senior Year (Jan) SAT: 2240 - 720cr 780m 740w

In all, an increase of 520 all through taking practice tests. I've taken probably about 10 full length ones through the year and have just done questions. For the final SAT, I learned 350 vocab words.

Oct 2004: SAT I 690M, 660V
Dec 2004: SAT II 640 WR (6/12 essay)
Oct 2005: SAT I 660M, 670V, 700 WR (10/12 Essay)
Jan 2006: SAT I 760M, 690V, 730 WR (12/12 Essay)

I improved a ton in math, but CR and W stayed about the same. Definitely most satisfied with the latest results...Taking real practice tests helped a lot more than stupid PR.

crossover - I have a 4.0 and I'm in full IB, so I knew I had the knowledge to do well. The PSAT was a wake up call, and I just took practice tests. Eventually you realize there is only certain kinds of questions. I studied some vocab for the final test to improve cr and it worked. In all, I took about 10 practice tests.

Just remember, you can do it! I stayed positive and challenged myself.

#1: April 2005; Critical Reading: 560 Writing: 580 Math: 480 (i was hungover... hehehe...) #2: November 2005; Critical Reading: 650 Writing: 650 Math: 480 #3: January 2006; Critical Reading: 700 Writing: 750 Math: 530

As you see, the scores are steadily improving. I think I can get the reading and writing up to 800, and the math to the 600s if I really work hard. Planning to take 6 full practice tests before the April 1st test. Then, probably 4-5 more before the May test. I already went through 6 tests on the blue book, but only did three of them completely.

Most of my studying before this has been spent on reading books and writing essays, short stories, and poems (none for school). Not exactly the greatest way to study the SAT, but a great way to prepare for college and philosophize about the universe that surrounds me. :)

I spent my summer prepping for it and I don't even remember how many practice tests I took. Pretty happy about it even though I still couldn't get that Math up to a 700. Math incompetent here. >.<

SAT is ridculous nowadays. My teacher said in the old days, students would take the test cold, no prep and it would measure chances for college success/aptitude. Now, it just measures your ability to take the test.

That is exactly what my math teacher told us.
