Did anyone else's SAT score go down from their PSAT? By, like, a lot?

PSAT (October '05): 232 (78CR/74M/80W)
SAT (November '05): 2160 (800CR/650M/710W)

Junior October PSAT: CR-58, M-70, WR-52
Junior November SAT: CR-510, M-740, WR-480, essay=8/12
Junior January SAT: CR-640, M-740, WR-580, essay=8/12
I dnt know what is the heck wrong with my essay score, I did put more
examples in the essay, may be not solid enough.
SAT is just SAT, a lot colleges use this test in a mistakingly way. And I dnt know why.
Well, you know the whole world is going wrong when the tallest player in NBA is Chinese, when the best rapper is white, when the best golfer is black, when the most powerful man in this country is called Bush.

Sorry about all that trash, I just ****ed off by my freaky SAT scores!

8th grade practice sat = 970 out of 1600

junior year psat = 200

senior year sat = 2300 (800m, 750v, 750w)

Hmm...

Sophomore PSAT = 212
Junior PSAT = 223
Junior January SAT = 2290 (W 730, M 760, V 800)

I decided not to waste another 4 hours or so of my life by retaking the SAT. ;p

Sophomore PSAT = 190 (51 CR, 72 M, 67 W)
Junior PSAT = 207 (59 CR, 76 M, 72 W)
Nov 2005 SAT = 2230 (700 CR, 790 M, 740 W)

2 year improvement = 330 points

thisyearsgirl---my scores went down from my psat too; not by a lot (40 pts), but my writing went from 80 to 710 (psat to SAT). that was disappointing, mostly because i've had no problem with the writing section

I don't have any success stories yet, but the PSAT was a wake up call (as someone mentioned) that I needed to step up to the plate and showed them adcoms everything I've got.

jsullivan89: Yeah, my score went down by 160 points, 90 of which were on the math section, so I don't really know what happened. I'm hoping it was a fluke, and that I'll do better in May. Otherwise I'll have to seriously reevaluate my potential list of colleges. :(

1st try: M- 780, CR- 690, W-710 (10/12 on essay)
2nd try: M- 750, CR- 630, W- 730 (12/12 on essay)
3rd try: M-730, CR- 640, W- 700 (9/12 on essay)

Weirdness eh? Downward trend. LOL.

I took the new SAT 3 times, first time I got an 1880, I dont know why. Second time I got a 2100, and third time I got a 2320. I improved 220 points each time I took it. Funny, huh? Im afraid that the universe will implode if I take it a fourth time.

March: 730 Verbal 720 Math 730 Writing (2180)
June: 790 Verbal 780 Math 750 Writing (2320)
October: 790 Verbal 800 Math 770 Writing (2360)

milesguidon & tchaikovsky: did you guys prep a ton?

I've only taken Pre-PSAT (soph)
63 (CR), 64 (M), 67 (W)

i took a princeton review course which was between my 1880 and 2100, but then i took it again and got a 2320. Its hard to say that the score was purely a result of the prep course, but the class was useful in ways.

I never took any courses, I just went over everything in the Princeton Review book and the Blue Book.

tchaikovsky, you beat me by 40 points.....why did you have to do that?

tchaikovsky, the princeton review book as in the book with all practice tests or the book with all the strategies?

well if he said he went over everything in the princeton review books, i think its safe to assume he meant the strategy books. But you know what they say about assuming...

Sorry about that, I just meant the one with the 11 practice tests. All I did was take tests.
