I got a 780 on the math section of the last SAT I took. The majority of the schools I am applying to say they superscore the SAT. I was wondering, if I were to focus all my studying on the English (I got a 680, so I really need to be passing 720 for the 1500 superscore), would it look bad if my math score were to go down slightly. Say I were to take it again and got a 720 English and 740 math, would colleges only look at the 1500, or would they look at the fact that my math score decreased 40 points as well? This has always confused me.
More specifically, Harvard, as an example (I know this is a reach school, but it is my top school so I am wondering what Harvard does).
