SAT toutoring Advice

I consider myself to be a good student, but when it comes to standardized tests I just seem to have trouble. I plan on taking the SAT in October and I was wondering if I should take a course. Does any one know of a program that works? I was leaning towards kaplan (over $2100) but I want a second opinion. Thanks

study yourself? i personally think sat courses are worthless, just teach you what you can learn yourself from books.

Well said. Reading a review book is not like reading a textbook. First of all, the information is presented in a way that is very easy to follow, and, secondly, as lol12345 said, you'd learn the same things in a course as you would in a regular review book.

i took kaplan and it did raise my grade by 200 points but im still not where i want at all...

number2.com also has a good vocab builder..

def dont spend that much money on esp kaplan. if your a low scorer right now, and you want practice get a tutor or go to a place that isnt kaplan or PR, and has high scorers in it. dont spend too much money, adn sometimes, there are tutors that dont cost THAT much, it sounds like a lot, but you end up savin money. like 40 dollars an hour for a tutor, twice a week, for 8 weeks straight (cuz thats how long most SAT prep classes are over the summer), and you will end up savin more money than the SAT prep class, and learnin a lot more
