I was wondering if any SAT tutoring companies hire high school students over the summer to help teach some of their classes. I scored a 2300+ on my SATs, and I was wondering if there were any employment opportunities for high school students like me. I am 17, so I think that my hours limitations wouldn't be that bad.

i highly doubt it. you could probably make a decent sum of money from one-on-one private tutoring though.

I think there are two issues that test prep companies would try to avoid. One is liability. They would need a legal adult in the classroom for liability reasons. The second is perception. While you would probably make an exceptional teacher, parents are not likely to perceive you that way because of your age, and parents are the ones paying for the courses and tutoring. I know how hard it was to be a 5th grade teacher coming right out of college. None of the parents wanted their kids in my classroom at first; that changed once they saw my abilities, but I was 23 and teaching 10 year olds. You would be 17 and teaching 17 year olds.

I agree with the previous poster. Tutor on your own, gain some experience, and apply after a couple of years in college. You could give your name and number to your high school counselor so that they can pass it on to interested students and parents.
