SAT U.S History or SAT Physics?

Hi guys, I am gonna take SAT Subject Tests this June and I want to decide which one to take.

I took the AP for both U.S history and Physics and I thought I did VERY well on U.S History and not so well on Physics.

I like Physics but I don't like U.S histoy. I could only take either one of these subjects since I will be taking Math 1 & 2.

SO WHICH ONE DO YOU THINK IS HARDER? U.S or Physics?

FYI, I got a 570 on the SAT Physics the last time I took it with very less preparation.

It sounds as though US History would be better. I recommend, though, that you drop Math Level 1 and opt instead for Physics.

why drop math level 1?

Because of the following:

[ul][]Math Level 1 is generally viewed less favorably by admissions officers.
[]Many schools require Math Level 2; no school requires Math Level 1.
[]Many CCers report that Math Level 1’s questions are just as hard as those of Math Level 2.
[]Most schools will not count them as separate tests.
[li]You have to get every question right to get 800 on Math Level 1, whereas one can usually miss 6-7 raw points out of 50 and still get 800 on Math Level 2.[/li][/ul]

^ “Many schools require Math Level 2”

I was under the impression that only MIT and Caltech required the Math II subject test.

^ MIT requires that either Math 1 or Math 2 be sent. I was considering engineering schools that require Math 2 when I chose “Many.”

UC’s do not accept Math 1 either.

What do you guys think about sat phyiscs?

yeah drop math 1 and just take math 2
first and foremost, what is your reasoning behind taking both?
they overlap for the most part, with a couple miscellaneous topics for math 2

math 2 always has a better curve than math 1 (math 1’s curve is brutal)
math 2 looks a lot better on the college application (although the test may be easier than the math 1 test because of the curve, colleges still see it as a more “advanced” test)

yeah i’d definitely just take U.S. History, Physics, and Math 2 if I were you
and if possible, just cut it down to two tests, because three tests is just absolutely exhausting

i took two tests this last May and that was tiring enough. it was probably just because of the tedious nature of the tests, but nonetheless exhausting. just a thought

Thank you soooo much blizzardpenguin.

I am using the Princeton Review to study for the math SATs and I found the level1 test form B to be extremely hard than form A. Did anyone find it hard too?

I think that you should just take the Math II but maybe in October or November since you can’t really pull off a good grade if you start studying now.
Instead, take physics & USH this saturday
