i'm currently a junior in highschool with a 4.32 weighted academic GPA
i took the SAT for the first time in october and my overall score was 2290
math 770
reading 800
writing 720, essay 10
i'm disappointed in my writing score, which is why i'm thinking of retaking the SAT.. if so, when would be the next best time to take it?

i'm also considering trying out the ACT; would that be better than retaking the SAT?

The following website could be useful:

[The SAT vs. the ACT | SAT ACT Comparison](SAT vs ACT: Which Test is Right for You? | The Princeton Review)

I thought ACT was harder. Some people say its easier. The science section was a b**ch. I got a 18 out of 36 on that. Everything else was 32+.

I personally thought the ACT was easier (that’s just me though). Realized mid-test that I needed to work quickly on science and skip all the reading, scored a 32 composite w/out prep. Also, the essay doesn’t factor into ACT composite.
