How does the admissions committee consider a situation in which there are big differences in SAT and ACT scores? My SATs are CR 680 M 750 W 670 (2100) yet my ACT is composite 34. Individual highest scores are M 35 E 36 Sc 33 W/R 33 across two different tests. Would Duke only consider my much higher ACT scores or both SAT and ACT scores

Only submit the ACT. You are not required to submit both the SAT and ACT. For the one you select to submit you do have to submit scores from all test dates. With a composite 34 it doesn’t matter, but Duke doesn’t superscore the ACT. While there are differing conversion charts a 34 converts to around a 2300 SAT.

Well I’m a 2017 applicant so I already submitted both scores. What do you guess will happen?

I’d have to defer to someone else. I have no idea but you can’t ignore you had an excellent ACT score.

I’m pretty sure they only consider your highest scores

I agree. Schools tend to look at your highest score.

Nice thank you everyone I really hope that is the case

did you get in?
