Elders have been telling me that schools prefer SAT over ACT, but I don’t believe that this is true. Are both equally accepted, or is there a general bias still around? Any sources claiming one over the other would also be nice.
Both are equally accepted by all schools. Some require SAT subject tests in addition to SAT and/or ACT scores.
They are basically interchangeable - though some students do much better on one than the other… taking both can’t hurt.
The UCs will require you to take the written portion of the ACT.
