SAT vocab advise

I have gotten a 630 on CR on my first official SAT test ever without studying during the beginning of Junior year in November. Now, I am up to the 700's on the Blue Book practice tests.

I suggest that you guys read "Catch 22" by Heller. I have been reading it and my vocabulary has been building up. There are so much SAT vocab words in it. Just get a dictionary beside you and read it.

Good luck!

more useful than DH 1&2?

It probably depends on what kind of person you are. If you genuinly enjoy reading, then Catch-22 might be good SAT vocab review (although having to look up vocab every few pages might undermine the pleasure of reading). On the other hand, if your goal is solely to build up your SAT vocab as expediently as possible, then I think DH 1&2 is definitely the better choice since it contains many of the words seen commonly on the SAT and you don’t have to look them up yourself.

^ Yea, I guess it depends on what kind of person you are. But for me, the book actually helped me retain the words because they were actually being used and repeated throughout the novel. If you think Direct Hits is better, then go ahead and study that. I was just offering my advise since my score had went up.
