SAT Vocabulary Book?

I'm a freshman with an average of a 2180 currently and I'm looking for the best efficient vocabulary book out there. I'm currently struggling greatly with Critical Reading (and somewhat the Essay), which has been averaging around 650. Should I use Word Smart by Princeton Review or Direct Hits? I'm hoping to take the SAT by the end of the year.

We’ve had luck with direct hits and the “word power” at the end of each months Readers Digest magazine. I also think it helps to read. A lot. Good luck! You are starting early and that will make it so much easier for you to succeed.

Thanks! One question, I have already purchased the Word Smart’s, should I still use them? I think they’re pretty decent from what I heard, just not highly efficient.

Frankly, most vocab books/lists are good (Barrons, Princeton Review, Sparknotes, etc.) and have a lot of overlap. You can google SAT vocab lists that are from the collegeboard/past SATs, too if you want.

Albert Einstein High School’s Scribd site has lots of study guides and lists including Vocab. Here is the link to their collection folder: [College Testing Prep SAT/ACT/Accuplacer/IB/AP Study Guides | Scribd](<a href=“College Testing Prep SAT/ACT/Accuplacer/IB/AP Study Guides | Scribd”>College Testing Prep SAT/ACT/Accuplacer/IB/AP Study Guides | Scribd)

wow thx! Great stuff !

I’d check out <a href=“Parked Domain name on Hostinger DNS system”>Parked Domain name on Hostinger DNS system; They have almost 2000 sat words and associated mnemonics. it helped me.

haha i just saw that yesterday! (someone posted it on my quizlet vocab list) thanks though! i’ll be sure to check it out

I used Direct Hits and then Sparknotes; I got all of the sentence completion correct on the PSAT because of these resources. Good luck!(:

Direct Hits!

wow, congrats on that hangooksaram! Ok from all these votes I think Direct Hits is the way to go then.
