<p>I got a 12 on the SAT essay, and a 9 on the ACT one (twice). I recently took the ACT again, but if anything the essay will stay the same or go down, because it wasn't too good.</p>

<p>They might care, I guess it really depends on the school. I should be asking this question myself, one of the most surprising results I notice with my SAT was my essay score: 6. I was astonish and wouldn’t have even guessed to have gotten such a score, I guess it could have been my hand writing ( many have a difficult time reading it) but I overlooked all of that which wasn’t bad at all. I was reading other posters mentioning how universities may not put much emphasis on it due to their own personal essay(s) for admission.</p>
