SAT vs ACT scores

Would some colleges rethink my admissions if I meet the requirements on the ACTs but not the SATs? I have a 1790 on the SATs and a 32 on the ACTs. I’m retaking the SATs in October but don’t have high hopes for it cause I’m a little rusty.

Don’t submit the SAT if your ACT score is better. Colleges will accept either one.

I would submit your best score.

Colleges will use your best score, regardless if ACT or SAT

Just don’t submit your lower SAT score and you’ll be fine

Agreed, just submit your higher ACT score. Colleges don’t care which test you send in.

Won’t it look bad if I just submit one score?

Absolutely not.

It won’t look bad if you submit just one score because (most) schools don’t require your entire testing history. If you send a 32 they really have no way of knowing if a) you took the SAT and didn’t send your score or b) you never took the SAT. They’re not going to take one look at your ACT and assume you’re hiding something:) Don’t worry about it!

The only reason to submit that SAT is if you are apply to a school that Requires you to submit all scores. Not many do and those are all highly competitive.

Do not retake if you don’t want. Send in the ACT. There is no reason why a college would expect you to take the SAT.

Thanks guys. I send in my ACTS scores already but I have one more question, the Common App asks if I want to self report along with the official score report and I don’t know if I’m supposed to put all the scores of the tests I took or only the ACT score because I’m officially reporting the ACT score. If I self report my SAT score would it affect my admissions even though I’m not officially reporting it?

I sent in my ACT scores already…

Don’t self report the SAT score. There’s no reason to.
