Hi,
So I am about to begin the process of studying for those standardized tests (or one of them) but here is my question:
Which on looks better?
I have looked up on websites and they say it doesn't matter which one but some schools (Dream school = UVA) "highly recommend" Sat ll Subject tests. So if I take the ACTs and then the SAT ll subject tests, will that look bad or be too hard for me???

You should set aside two separate days to take an Official practice test. Both the ACT and the College Board(SAT) offer a free test online on their sites.Actually, before taking the test practice with some of the free daily practice questions each site offers so that you are familiar with each exam.

After scoring both tests you can make a more informed decision as to which test is better for you. Most colleges have no preference as to which exam you submit.
Also, it is perfectly fine to submit an ACT score and two SAT Subject tests.

Thank you!!

Only ONE school admits a preference for one test and that is Cal Poly for the ACT, but ALL will take either test. Check with your colleges to see if you need to take the SAT IIs. Many will use the ACT with writing in place of those.

You should take SAT II’s anyways even if you are taking the ACT to make yourself more competitive if you are thinking about applying to very good schools (Ivies, Stanford, UCB, etc…). If you do AP classes, SAT II’s will be relatively easy for you.

Best of luck and do not be daunted by the ugly multi-headed dragon that is standardized testing. Persevere and keep practicing. You will do great. :)
