SAT vs ACT with writing

So I signed up for the June versions of both of them. I took the practice ACT with Kaplan in my freshman year and scored pretty low (24 or 26). When I took the PSAT sophomore year (my school is stupid and requires it sophomore year instead of junior), I didn't do too well either and got a 1750. I know I've learned a LOT since freshman year, and I'm assuming I'll get in the 30s on the ACT this time. Would this be an accurate assumption? How much should I prepare to get in the 30s on the ACT and over 2000 on the SAT? I know these are low goals, but I think they're okay for my first time especially considering what I got on the practice version. Also what is the science like on the ACT?

Prepare as much as possible. You need to know the subjects, but more than that you need to be able to get through the questions as efficiently as you can. The old do the easy ones first, then the ones that are easy but take some time, then the ones that take a bit of thought, then the harder ones…

Also, try reading the reading questions before going after the reading. It can go faster if you know what you’re looking for.

Science is basically interpreting short little studies and graphs and stuff. If you’ve done well on science labs, you’ll probably be just fine.
