SAT vs. ACT

do colleges like the SAT over the ACT? I mean they say they will accept both, but is an identical SAT score more impressive than an identical ACT score?

both are equal in the eyes of top colleges.

If your scores are equally as good I would recommend sending the SAT, just because when I see someone who sent ACT and not SAT I assume they did poorly on the SAT, but when someone sends SAT and not ACT I don’t assume they did poorly on the ACT.

Just my 2cents

So what if they did do poorly (or not as good) on SAT vs ACT? Will that hurt them? Why does it matter if the scores are accepted equally?

Yea i’m kind of in that situation, Columbia University is my dream school but I only got 2060 on my SAT. However, I got a 33 ACT which I am more comfortable with sending.

Send only the ACT. Both tests are accepted equally.
