SAT vs. ACT

I know that SAT and ACT scores supposedly correlate... like 36-2400, 35-2340 etc. But I have heard many people have far better ACT than SAT scores when they took them both...

one of my friends made a 2020 on the SAT with studying, then made a 35 on the ACT without studying,

another made a 1890 SAT and a 32 SAT....

What does the ACT test that the SAT doesn't to account for this discrepancy??? Are they really good at science or what?

Act is more math science based i think. And the CR section on the SAT is a killer. Also I think the ACT is shorter but idk so that would help some people who tend to lose focus after 2.4003530610 hours

your friends reasoning skills are probably inferior to their overall knowledge…the SAT is more of a reasoning test (hence the name…SAT reasoning test)…whereas the ACT is a test that challenges your knowledge in 4 different subjects…with the SAT…you reason through the test…using your intuition…unlike the ACT where you take what you have learned throughout the years…and apply it to a 3 1/2 hr test.

Yeah, this happened to me too… I got a 2050 on the SAT and a 35 on the ACT. The ACT tests things that you actually learn in school. And another thing that i prefer is that the sections are longer so you can focus on one particular subject and get into it compared to the SAT which is like ok 20 minutes math STOP! 20 minutes writing STOP! lol
