I know this topic probably came up several times in the CC, but I'm going to talk about it anyway.

I came across a Korean article (수학/과학 잘하는사람은 SAT, 영어 잘하는사람은 ACT) that says SAT is for English-minded people and ACT is for Math-gifted people. It seems very convincing to me. And it's pretty obvious what kind of person I am from the score: (530 CR, 740 MATH, 730 WRITING). In terms of grade-wise, I have a strong GPA of 3.96 and a salutatorian status :). Do you agree that SAT is for English-minded people and ACT is for Math and Science-gifted people? I'd like to hear others' opinions.

To be honest, I can't disagree with it. I'm going to be a senior, and ever since my junior year, I have prepared for the SAT. Yet, the super score came out to be 2000, throughout the whole year..... I kind of studied, but I did slack a bit on not reading A LOT(I ABHOR reading) and memorizing like 1000s of vocabulary words(They're the bane of my existence). I never took the ACT. I hope the ACT result will be better than the SAT (hoping for 33+). I even looked at the practice questions, and they're way more straight-forward than SAT questions. I prefer Math/Science to English, and English sections don't even seem hard as in the SAT.

I also remember an SAT passage from the Princeton Review 2010th Edition that talks about how people who use their right-hemisphere tend to be better on analysis, counting, verbalization, and rational statements based on logic. For the vice versa, it is more of a imaginary, metaphorical, subjective "mode." So I thought to myself that the former is a person like me whilst the latter is for people who actually read and love English subjects. I have a friend who got an 800 on CR, and even for her, the "SAT math" is not that complicated.

So the conclusion is,
Math/Science-gifted people = ACT
English-adepts / Readers = SAT
My question is:
1. Do you agree?
2. List your strong subjects/weak subjects.
3. Your GPA/class standing/anything school-wise.
4. Your native language(I only ask this to see if there are other non-native English speakers here and their performance in English.).

I'll go first.
1. YES.
2. I am adept in the following subjects: Math, Science(except Bio, Bio I thought was very English-like too), Spanish, Music(5 on Ap Muz and perfect-pitched). I am weak in the following subjects: English, always in the B+/A- range (Never got a solid A). US History too, because 690 on SAT II and 4 on AP.
3. 3.96/2/I have no problems with school at all. I am highly involved in activities and around my community. Standardized tests are the only weakness I have.
4. No. Native-Korean. 2nd-English. 3rd-Spanish(My Spanish is about the 6th grade level).
