sat vs. toefl

how do u convert between a toefl score and sat score? say i have a 1250 sat, what would that be in terms of a toefl score?

thanks

er.. SAT is reading, math and writting toefl is only a language test.. you cant convert like that

TOEFL = Test of English as a Foreign Language. The test is used mainly to satisfy a visa requirement, meaning that any applicant for an F1 Visa must fulfill an English profficiency requirement.

SAT = Scholastic Aptitude Test. This test is geared principally towards American Students, who make up the bulk of test takers - as has been mentioned earlier, the SAT has a Critical Reading, Writing and Quantitative section, each of them assessing different skills (it is highly contentious what these skills actually are, but that is an entirely different topic).

There is no conversion possible here, except maybe for a reasonable correlation between high CR and WR scores and high TOEFL scores. It is obvious that the people who get high scores on the verbal sections of the SAT posess a good enough command of the English language to do well on the TOEFL, which, to be honest, is much easier compared to the SAT. People who do well on the TOEFL do not necessarily get high scores on the verbal sections of the SAT, as these test a lot of vocabulary not covered by the TOEFL.

toefl is designed for non-native english speakers so its a little more ESL friendly than the SAT verbal

I agree. There is no correlation between the TOEFL and the SAT.
