A college I’m applying to requires the SAT w Writing, I took it once with writing and am looking to take it again but do I have to take it with essay again or is once enough as long as i send those scores as well
Schools that ask for SAT with essay will not consider any scores from an SAT without essay, so it is in your best interest to take the essay again especially if your SAT scores (Math and EBRW) increase on the 2nd one.
@Gumbymom that’s actually not always the case. I called Brown and they said they would take section scores from other SAT tests as long as we sent an SAT that included the writing as well. I explained that our S has better EW and math scores on the test where he did not take the essay. They said they would consider those two scores and then the essay score from the other SAT. So… I think it depends on the school and the OP should call admissions offices. It’s not usually spelled out clearly on websites.
@homerdog: Thanks for the information. I know the UC’s are very strict about having the essay with SAT or will not consider SAT scores without the essay. Best answer as you stated is to check with each school for their specific requirements.
Check with the school first. If it’s not possible, then study a little bit more and take it again with writing.
