SAT Writing and chances of being accepted into BU

I just got my SAT results . I scored an 1830. I will be taking them again in Sept. but would like to know if an 1830 is enough to get me in. My GPA is a 3.8w. Also, how much importance does BU give to the written part of the SAT?
I would love to attend BU and would appreciate any feedback from you.

I don't think any school counts the writing part that much.

This seems to be coming up a lot, but schools generally look at unweighted gpa much more than weighted. They put it on a standard 4 point scale since schools use all sorts of different weights.

Haha darn. My writing section was my best. (770). But I'm taking them again also, so hopefully the other sections will improve. =]

since the writing section is pretty new..schools are still trying to evaluate an average score.. but as each year goes on it is considered more and more in your acceptance.. so dont think it doesnt effect your score.. because good or bad its going to have an impact on your evaluation

BU will use the SAT writing section in admissions, according to their Common Data Set (question C-8)

It appears that BU is considering the writing score. This link to merit scholarships shows average CR and Math totals along with average Writing scores for the various scholarships: http://www.bu.edu/admissions/apply/scholar_merit.html
