SAT Writing Curve

dude, 3 wrong 0 omit 10 essay

harsh

wth everyone has like significantly varying scores with around the same number wrong, omitted, and essay score..

4 wrong, 12 essay......760.

I thought it was reasonably fair.

Yeah chachaxia that got me a 750...which test did you have?

same as chachaxia...

3 wrong...0 omitted and i got a 71 in multiple choice
9 essay
710....cruel

1 wrong
11 essay
790

I think the discrepancy is that the MC isn't always exactly 70% and the essay isn't always exactly 30%... from month to month or versions of the test to other versions of the test

stevezilla and RCO, did you have the animal tones test form and the writing segment on the shy guy?!

62/80, 0 omit, 10 essay --> 650

nono, i meant 72/80 haha

"Wow. That's a horrible curve. We must have had different versions. 790. 2 wrong. 10 essay. I had an improving paragraphs about a shy guy."

WHAT??
2 wrong, 0 omit, 10 essay - 740.

this makes me mad...very mad...

"I think the discrepancy is that the MC isn't always exactly 70% and the essay isn't always exactly 30%... from month to month or versions of the test to other versions of the test"

true...but should there really be THAT huge of a discrepancy? (see above post)

I think it also works to your disadvantage if brighter students happen to take the version of the test you have...It doesn't say much about the difficulty of the test...there's a luck factor
u can get an difficult test, but too many intelligent kids taking the same test can make the curve less harsh than it would actually be..
just my $0.02

1 wrong MC and 10 essay = 770 :(

Tsmallzxc, I had the version you are talkinga bout.

4 wrong, 0 omit, 10 essay

700.

CB - I CHALLENGE YOU TO DUEL!!!!

3 wrong, 0 omit, 11 essay

730

**** YOU COLLEGEBOARD!

my score is the worst! haha! i beat you all!!!

9 wrong 0 omit 8 essay

600

I'm the best!!

S got a 750 with 80 on MC (none wrong and none omitted) an 8 on the essay.

guys...what do u think the percentages will be??

i think 750 or greater will be 99th percentile...

aaron... i thought they make the curve before we take the test ??

1 wrong, 12 essay = 800... is this normal?
