SAT Writing curve?!

16 kobe: Each essay is scored by two readers on a 6-point scale. So, a perfect score of 12 means both readers gave a 6. A score of 11 means one reader gave it a 6 and the other reader gave it a 5.

The scores of 8 and 9 mean that your readers are consistently scoring your essays as 4 or 5. Check the college board website and search for the thread on essay writing tips here to figure out how to bump your essay up.

(If the readers differ by more than one point, e.g. one reader gives a 6 and the other gives a 4, then it goes to a third reader for some kind of resolution.)

good luck!

9 on essay
100% on MC =

790 W on May test

I’ve gotten 800 on the Writing 4 times:

10E, 80 mc = 800
10E, 80 mc = 800
12E, 77 mc = 800
11E 80 mc = 800

^Hypothetically, how rare/odd would you say it is to jump from a 690 W –> 800 W with no prep in between?

That’s actually a really generous curve.
