SAT writing question

I don't know where these questions come from but I really don't know how to fix them.

The weather in Arizona and New Mexico (is A) like (some parts of B) California, but (despite this C) similarity (there are D) important climatic differences within these regions.

the correct answer is B but can you tell me how to fix it?

(It would be A) much more efficient for (you and I B) to work together on both projects (than C) for (each of us D) to work separately on one.

the correct answer is D but do you change it to .. both of us?

Thanks!

THe first one weather is being compared to some other parts. therefore parts and waether cannot be compared. A corrrection can be “like the weather”

(It would be A) much more efficient for (you and I B) to work together on both projects (than C) for (each of us D) to work separately on one.

B is what’s wrong. It needs to be “you and me”.
