<p>It depends on whom you ask. Until about 50 years ago they were considered interchangeable. Then some English word nazis decided there should be a difference and decided that hanged should refer to what they wished they could have done to any normal person who disagreed with them and hung should refer to having placed something on the wall. That is the distinction some claim today but either is correct for either act. Problem is for scoring on the SAT I don’t know whether the test graders are among those English word nazis.</p>
