SAT Writing Questions: Help!

I have two questions.

He was somewhat uncertain about how to use the new machine and asked for more specific instructions be sent.

A. somewhat
B. how to use
C. asked for
D. more specific
E. No error

Aerial photography is thought to be the most efficient technique to gather accurate information about the use of the land.

A. to be
B. the most efficient
C. to gather
D. information about
E. No error

These are from PSAT practice tests.

C. to gather

I think it should be "of gathering". It's an idiom.

I would say A. somewhat because somewhat uncertain seems like a reptition. It could no error. I'm not sure.

C

I think it should be "asked that", but im not sure

C

my initial feeling is E and C, but i guess 33. could well be C

C, he asked /that/ more specific instructions be sent;

C, it is the most efficient technique /in gathering/ accurate information

I think 33 is E.
34. C

If you want confirmation for number 33, go to: http://forum.wordreference.com/index.php
and post in the English forum

I agree with meow360 and daenerys, for the same reasons.

They are both "C". However, it's "technique for gathering".

first one is C
