<p>I see on the 2008 common set data it is stated that the SAT writing score isn't used for admission. Is this accurate? Does any one know what they use it for?</p>
<p>Since SAT Writing is new, I’m pretty sure they’re just using it as a piece of data, so they can track how well kids with certain scores do at Stanford. Essentially, they’re trying to figure out if and how the writing score is significant, or at least that’s what many colleges are doing. I don’t know when they’re going to start evaluating them, assuming they haven’t started already.</p>
<p>Has anyone asked admissions this question during one of the informational tours on campus?</p>
