36

“They” refers to “many people,” so no ambiguity. Remember–an antecedent can come after a pronoun:

Because he was such a disgusting pig, Marvin was ostracized by his classmates.

37

B has no errors. A and C inexplicably shift verb tense to future. And D and E are not questions, thus rendering sentence 7 nonsensical.

Thanks. For #36, is the original sentence " If they do not know a shy person, many people will jump to conclusions as to why that person is acting in this manner." too redundant or is there something grammatically wrong with it?

The whole “as to why” stuff is wordy and should be removed if possible.

“this manner” only makes sense if it refers specifically to a manner that has been named earlier in the sentence. It doesn’t. The phrase “shy people” might imply a manner of acting, but that’s not good enough.
