What schools completely disregard the SAT writing section? What schools consider, however less than critical reading and math? Finally, what schools regard all three of the SAT sections equally? Thanks in advance.

Almost everywhere looks at it, and almost every school counts it as being comparable to the CR section.

yea...last year it was worth less, this year it is starting to match the crit/math sections, next year it will be more so, and so on

Does anyone have the link identifying how much emphasis a college put on the SAT writing section?

There was one post with such a link some time ago. Maybe you can find it with the search function.

Yeah, that's the link I was looking for, couldn't find it though. Does anyone have the link I'm speaking of?

Bump. Anyone? I think it was from Kaplan, not sure though.

Try this link. But remember this SAT I writing business is in a state of flux. What was true yesterday may not be true today. Try to do very well in all areas of the SAT.

I'm pretty sure that Cornell weighs CR and math more than they do writing, if that helps.

I think this is the requested link. I have it bookmarked, haha:

Thank You So Much!

remember that was 2005 which is alot different than 2007 b/c at 2005 the writing first came out

I would recommend that you call the colleges you are interested in and ask how they view the Writing section. You'll get a pretty straight forward answer. Also, of all the sections on the SAT, the Writing is the easiest to prepare for and improve your score on. Why not try taking the SAT again?
