SAT writing section

So, I just got my SAT I scores back, and I did really well on the reading and writing sections (740, 760).

I only got a 650 on math, but with my total score looking good, I didn't think I'd have to re-take it.

BUT- my highest score is in the writing section. I'm not looking to get into any of the Ivy League schools, but I'd like to be accepted by a nice enough college. I've heard that the writing section doesn't count for much.

So, should I re-take the test despite a pretty good total, or will colleges only look at math and reading sections, and throw out that 760?

If you arent trying for ivies, your score will get you into some pretty decent schools. NYU, Duke, Carnegie Mellon, JHU, Northwestern, Georgetown, Rice, George Washington, Amherst, and Vanderbilt are good options. And by the way, you could still get into Ivies with that score. You’re in the running. Try to stand out with the essays and stuff.
