I've heard that it's good to use references to literature when you write your essay on the SAT. What books should I read?

You don't necessarily need to "read" the book to reference to them. Anything by Shakespeare is good, as well as any of the classics. If you know the storyline and plot of Romeo and Juliet, you can use it for one of your examples.

from my own experience, madame bovary works for a lot of stuff

Wow. I just read a plot summary of Madame Bovary. Man, it sounds like a modern soap opera. Hopefully, it's more refined than that.

Thanks ya'll!
